We (@fitdorks) try to show you stories of real people who want to make a lifestyle change but need a little of guidance. We are not here trying to convince you into getting into a strict diet, drinking a certain tea or selling an expensive plan to make that happen. All we are offering is insight and guidance on how you can make a lifestyle change without making huge sacrifices. Something that you could continue on doing even after the challenge.

Our goal is that once you receive the tips and guidance that you don’t have to depend on anyone (including us) to make better food choices. We want you to be your own nutritionist! We want all of you to live a healthier life to not only look better but also feel better. We are slowly doing this with one follower at a time and we appreciate some of you trusting us enough to do so. For Today’s story, we have Crystal (@crysieK), who joined the #FitCuveChallenge (Part of the The Simple Guide to a Healthier You Guide) to prove to herself that she’s disciplined enough to eat right. At a small frame of 5’2 and weighing about 135 Ibs, most of her weight was in her stomach. She has started diets before but quits within a day or two. She wanted a change so she joined the #FitCurveChallenge. After joining the challenge for 28-days, she lost about 3.5 inches around her waist. Here is Crystal's stor

Reason why you want to start the #FitCurveChallenge:

I’m joining this challenge to prove to myself that I am disciplined enough to eat right!  I have had discipline in every other area of my life (education, starting businesses, managing household, etc.) but when it comes to my health, I always have an excuse.  I put my husband and children (2 yr old & 6 mth old) before myself and find any reason to eat fast food (and drink sweet tea).  I have a small frame at 130lbs, 5’ 2” and everything on me is small, except my gut (which clearly means the food I’m consuming is unhealthy).  I can’t even make it up a fight of steps without heavy breathing and that is ridiculous.  I’ve started diets and quit within two or three days.  I’m over it!  I am making a commitment to be the best me I can be!  I’m ready for change!

After #FitCurveChallenge review (how it made you feel physically, mentally and emotionally):

I can say that I completed the challenge and successfully proved that I can take care of myself if I put in the effort.  I just feel better!  My clothes actually fit without me looking pregnant.  I have a 6mth old and a 2 year old, both delivered via cesarean and my main goal was to get rid of my pouch.  My jeans actually button without me unbuttoning them later in the day because they’re too tight.  Physically, I had headaches for the first couple days because my body was used to the enormous amounts of sugar and processed foods daily.  Emotionally, I was so ready to make a change so I was super excited the entire 28 days (despite the headaches)!  I believe I’ve changed my mindset for good.  Taking care of yourself and making the conscious effort to fuel your body with natural foods is not difficult once you set your mind to it.  I will be continuing this challenge and adapting it into my lifestyle!
